Toyota Tsusho to Equip SPD Pro In Irapuato, Mexico Facility

Toyota Tsusho will be sequencing assembly parts to the Mazda Assembly Plant.

Insequence, a premier supply chain software solutions provider, will be supplying Toyota Tsusho the SPD Pro Sequencing suite. Toyota Tsusho, the trading unit for the Toyota Group, will be sequencing tires and wheels to the Mazda Assembly Plant.

Sequential Parts Delivery (SPD) is the process of delivering parts to an assembly plant in an exact order, or sequence. Sequencing in automotive is delivering parts in the order they are needed on the production line. By having the materials arrive at the manufacturing facility within hours of use, automotive suppliers and OEMs reduce their inventory levels. This also eliminates expenses and damage risk of stocking and pulling materials. Thus allowing automotive part supply and assembly businesses to compete at the next level.

Toyota Tsusho will receive a pulse broadcast via a TCP/IP socket from Mazda. The Host receives and processes this broadcast, translating or parsing them so they may usable by the rest of the SPD Pro system.  Following the Host module, comes Load Manager. Load Manager, organizes the information from the Host into queues. These queues are then automatically made available to the next module, Manufacturing Rack Loading (MRL). At this point, the operator may begin picking or manufacturing.

The Rack Loading (MRL) software identifies and dictates which racks and slot positions parts belong in, post assembly line. It then verifies parts and rack via a scan and prints labels accordingly. Lastly, an additional module will perform a rack audit for additional verification. The final module, BOL, verifies racks are in the correct sequence for shipping along with printing shipping documents.
