Greer, South Carolina – Plastic Omnium will implement their second Insequence SPD Pro sequencing system. SPD Pro will be used to supply bumpers and rockers, in sequential order, to the Volvo assembly plant in Charleston, SC. Insequence typically implements any new SPD Pro system, however in this instance, Plastic Omnium will install the system with limited assistance from Insequence. SPD Pro is designed so that with experience customers can learn how to implement their own SPD system.
Designed as a standard solution, the SPD Pro software system eliminates the need for customization with each new install. Instead, the system is based off from having extensive configuration capabilities to let suppliers tailor the system to their needs. This includes giving suppliers complete access to their system to makes changes instead of relying on Insequence. For example, suppliers can update a BOM or part master, make changes in process steps, etc. without Insequence assistance. Additionally, the SPD Pro system already has a host link for dozens of automotive OEMs. Once again, this gives suppliers the option of using a software they are already familiar with for new OEM projects instead of searching for a new software supplier.
This standardization has allowed SPD Pro users to become intimately familiar with the system. In cases such as Plastic Omnium, they are confident in their knowledge of the software that only minimal assistance is needed during implementation, even if it is for an OEM they have not supplied to previously.
