Legendary Logistics to Implement Insequence SPD to Ship in Sequence to the Ford Oakville Assembly Plant.

Legendary Logistics has selected Insequence to provide them with a cutting edge Sequential Part Delivery (SPD Pro Solution). Insequence is a leading supplier of Sequential Part Delivery, MES, SCADA and Inventory Management solutions for companies of all sizes. Legendary Logistics will use SPD Pro solutions to drive their Mississauga sequencing and shipping process to the Ford Oakville Assembly Plant.
Insequence’s SPD Pro system will meet just-in-sequence and just-in-time requirements set by Ford for Legendary Logistics. Ford demand will be communicated through the 8502 broadcast. The SPD Pro software will process this demand then send requirements for sequencing to the line. The applications will then communicate with each other in a specific order to accomplish a smooth process, either build-in-sequence or just-in-sequence, depending on the commodity.
Legendary Logistics is a provider of total supply chain solutions to a diverse customer base throughout Ontario, Canada. For this project, they will pick and pack eleven different commodities then ship them in sequence to the Ford assembly plant.

It is becoming an increasingly popular process for commodities to be produced and shipped in the right sequence, at the right time. Sequential Part Delivery allows materials to arrive to an assembly plant within hours of use. This reduces inventory levels for both the supplier and the OEM. For many OEMS, this process is becoming a new business standard.
