Insequence to Provide Martinrea with MES, Manufacturing Execution System, Software

Martinrea uses MES to assemble parts for General Motors

Martinrea has selected Insequence, through Fori Automation, to provide them with the SPD Pro software. This implementation will be at Martinrea’s second facility located in Ajax, Ontario. At this facility, the company will be assembling rear suspension modules and brake assemblies for the GM Oshawa Assembly plant.

The many functions and capabilities of the SPD Pro MES module creates a unique system that can cater to the detailed and sophisticated needs of today’s modern manufacturer. Due to this functionality, the system allows suppliers to tailor it specifically to their requirements at any time. Coordinating and synchronizing people, processes, equipment, and assemblies, MES displays step-by-step instructions for operators at each workstation, error proofs each step, interfaces with assembly line machinery as needed, and provides complete “cradle to grave” traceability.

Most automotive supply plants will have separate assembly lines for each commodity. Thus requiring several workstations for each that will contain PLC interfaces, torques, and scanners. Furthermore, no matter how complex the project, MES is easily customized to fit the intricacy of these type projects with little to no extra programming.
