Autoneum to use Insequence sequencing software in Oregon, Ohio

Insequence’s SPD Pro sequential part delivery software will be utilized by Autoneum in their Oregon, OH facility for supplying carpets to Ford in sequenced order. This will be the third Autoneum location to utilize Insequence solutions.

The SPD Pro (sequential parts delivery) system will receive and validate the Ford demand before organizing it into loads. Once organized, the load information will be sent to appropriate workstations. Operators will then be prompted to pick the necessary carpet and scan it’s manufacturer’s bar-code. This scan validation helps to ensure parts are loaded in the correct sequence. During this process sequencing labels will be printed as required. When a full rack is completed a rack label prints and it is sent to shipping. This process will also be handled by Inseqence.

The above process is standard functionality for Insequence’s SPD Pro, but it also highlights the software’s adaptability. While Insequence offers their own MES solution capable of serializing parts, in some cases customers already have a system in place. In these situations, SPD Pro can still be used for sequencing. In Autoneum’s case, the SPD Pro Rack Loading application will scan the bar code of a 3rd party manufacturer to validate parts are in the correct sequence.

Autoneum is a global supplier of “acoustic and thermal management solutions for vehicles”. They employ nearly 13,000 people worldwide.
