A continuing legacy of success between Insequence and Buske Logistics. In 2004, Buske Logistics began parts sequencing to Ford using Insequence’s automotive parts sequencing software. Twenty years later, Buske Logistics continues to rely on Insequence for supplying parts to Ford across multiple facilities in North America and has also leveraged the software to scale their sequencing operations. Buske Logistics now supports 18 different sequencing clients and ships to seven different OEM locations.

To achieve this, Buske Logistics needed a solution that was reliable and easily scalable for two decades. Insequence delivered.

Who is Insequence?

Insequence is a leading provider of automotive manufacturing and logistics software, supporting many of the world’s largest automotive suppliers for more than 20 different automotive OEMs

Who is Buske Logistics?

Buske Logistics, an automotive sequencing provider since the early days of parts sequencing, has expanded into a global logistics group with numerous facilities across North America since its founding in 1923.

What is parts sequencing?

Parts sequencing is when a supplier delivers parts to an OEM assembly plant in the exact order needed for assembly. This lean manufacturing strategy reduces standing inventory. It is also known as in line vehicle sequencing (ILVS), sequential parts delivery (SPD), or just in sequence (JIS).

How has Buske Logistics scaled their Ford sequencing operations using Insequence?

Insequence has been perfecting parts sequencing software since 1996. The software is designed to easily accommodate new requirements – regardless of complexity–while still providing the stability essential for successful sequencing operations. For automotive sequencing providers like Buske Logistics, this is an essential feature that has, and continues to support the scaling of their operations.

For example, Buske Logistics needed to add a new customer to their Louisville, Kentucky location for sequencing grills to the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant. Since an Insequence system was already in place, and has been since 2005, Buske Logistics simply required a new rack loading station and Insequence support to implement the changes.

“Thanks to our long-term partnership with Insequence, we have been able to scale our operations effectively. Their reliable and scalable solutions have enabled us to expand our operations to a diverse range of clients. We now support 18 different sequencing clients across multiple facilities.”

Efficient Parts Sequencing to Ford Using Modular Software

Insequence’s parts sequencing software is designed in modules to easily accommodate new processes without disrupting the existing system. The process for sequencing begins at the OEM; in this case Ford. The parts sequencing information is sent to Buske Logistics and, once it has been received, it is passed on to the Insequence system. From there, Insequence:

1. Processes and organizes OEM demand into queues for sequencing stations.
2. Guides and error-proofs the pick-and-pack, or parts sequencing rack loading process
3. Manages the shipping process for all completed racks

Below is an example of an automotive supplier sequencing parts for multiple customers to a single OEM.

Ensuring Continuous Online Operations for Ford Automotive Sequencing

Continuous online operations are vital for automotive sequencing providers. So not only does Insequence provide parts sequencing software to Buske Logistics, but 24x7x365 live multilingual support. This ensures that if an issue arises, Buske Logistics has direct access to an Insequence technician around the clock.

Parts sequencing software is not the only solution automotive suppliers need in their operations. In multiple instances, Buske Logistics also required custom programming to interface the Insequence software with third-party systems. Insequence’s developers are experts in crafting efficient solutions with deep experience in ERP and WMS systems, automotive OEM requirements, and third-party interfaces.

To ensure a quality experience, all Insequence services, from technical support to software development, are staffed in-house.

A Commitment to Parts Sequencing Excellence

Supporting over 400 customers globally, Insequence continues to grow and innovate alongside automotive suppliers like Buske Logistics. This enduring partnership highlights Insequence’s commitment to providing reliable and flexible parts sequencing solutions, reinforcing its role as a trusted partner in the automotive industry.
